Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the sun._
In our opening text, we see time being related to purpose. The implication is that whenever a man thinks of time, he must think of purpose too. For time goes hand in hand with purpose. Purposes are accomplished in time.
As we go about celebrating our birthdays, we should not only use the day for fun but also to seek out from God, His purpose and plans for us for the next one year ahead of us.
The Bible says to every time, there is a purpose. That is to say, to every age or year that you attain in this life, there is a divine purpose attached to it. Take some time to let this statement sink into your mind.
The Bible also reveals that God is going to judge every man according to their works and actions aligned with His Purpose. We know that purposes, works and actions are carried out in time. And so, should God allow you to live for Seventy (70) years, what will you do with that time?
Should God allow you to live for the next three years what will you do with that time? Should God come to you and say “You are left with ten years to exit this world”, would you live differently from how you are living now?*
If you will, then it is a great sign that all these while you were not living right at all. You have been concentrating on what was never important all these years in your life.
However, you are super blessed if God shows you that you are left with three more years, and yet you don’t feel any reason to change your way of life but to intensify what you have been doing.
If the reality of death causes you to quickly change your lifestyle, then it is a sign that you are wasting your precious lifetime.
Make some resolutions today as you do your devotion so as to live well in order that should it ever be revealed to you that your time on earth is about to come to an end, you won’t have a reason to panic and be afraid. Remember that you have but a short time on earth to do a great work for God. Live every moment fully, make it count.

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I rebuke every spirit of Antichrist that will seek to temper with my times so I do not fulfil Your purpose for my life. Amen!_
