Heb 4:15 “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”_
The Bible explains to our understanding that Jesus was tempted in all points. What points are these? The points can be grouped into the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. Any man that will be well equipped to fulfil the mandate of God in his generation must master and do away with these three things;
1. The lust of the eyes.
2. The lust of the flesh.
3. The pride of life.
Just as in a football match when the winning team always gets three points, as believers we are expecting to score and do well in these three points. Every man will be tempted in these three areas. And we are expected by the power of The Holy Spirit to overcome so we can be effective to fulfil our destiny.
Sin has a way of distracting us and delaying us in destiny.
However, sin comes in our lives by these three gateways – the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. It is by these the devil tries to cause us to lose focus and employs against us in order to waste our time.
In all our endeavours on earth, the devil tends to bring these into our lives to try to waste our precious lifetime. If you can overcome the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life in your Christian walk, you will go a long way to accomplish great things for God.
Build self-control instead of spending time indulging in the lust of your eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.
