My Reflections on the Russia-Ukraine & Hamas-Israel War

What builds Compassionate nations? Or rather, what makes nations Compassionate? What was it that made certain nations and civilizations to become soo interested in the affairs of other nations soo much that their leaders were willing to spend the taxes of their citizens to alleviate the sufferings of people in other nations? And their citizens were glad, even urging their leaders on as they took on such endeavors?! What was it that made certain nations to act as “a global police force”, fighting and mitigating unrests within nations other than their own OR between other nations and their neighbours?

  • If there is no God, no Absolute Supreme Judge who has revealed His Moral Laws for humans to obey, why should world leaders who have been “educated” in some of the best higher institutions of learning in the world, care about nations who are busy destroying themselves?

Why should that be their concern or worry?

Don’t those fighting nations know it is “common sense” to respect the borders of your neighbour in order for peace to reign?

Again, if Jesus Christ is not God, what is the value of human beings? What moral right does anyone has to be angry at, to call on and to compel world leaders to attend to nations who have decided to destroy each other?

What makes risking one’s life/self and resources to bring peace and stability on earth worthwhile, heroic and right, if there is no God who has revealed Himself and who is going to judge humanity’s actions?

In fact, why should we be bothered about Injustice and seek to fight it?

Is it not “stupid” to risk your life fighting against Injustice if there is no resurrection, no life after death and there’s no Cosmic Judge who will judge all humans for how they lived on it?

If there’s no Absolute Truth, why should world leaders take your opinion and suggestions of intervening in two nations who have decided to go to war or a nation whose people have decided to kill each other?

You can shout all you want, the world leaders also have their reasons and their interests.

And for now, they don’t see any need to intervene.

Just as you have “your truth”, they too are entitled to “their truth”, even if it means children are been killed every minute, hour, or day?

Why should it be a problem or a concern when we are all “secularists”?

Ahaa…

I began by asking, “What Makes Nations/Cultures Compassionate?”

This is what I believe based on the Bible and it’s influence in history.

Compassion is born and it becomes a mass cultural phenomenon when a people discover and a generation are taught the fear of the Lord and the value God places on the human being.

When men discover that there is a Moral Lawgiver and a Judge who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

And He rewards the selfless and careful thought out deeds of men towards their fellow men in a quest to alleviate their sufferings and pain,

That is when men begin to truly care about one another and start to take thoughtful actions to alleviate sufferings and injustices not only in their societies, but where ever it is found in the earth.

It is then they(nations and people) will realise that Compassion is Right, Just, Good and Beautiful!

This was what birthed the Compassionate Nations, Cultures and Civilization of the West that everyone seems to be calling on to help!

But why should they(or rather, we) care any longer now that they(we all) are predominantly Secularists?! Until then, welcome to the 2nd decade of the 21st Century where those who were born in the late 20th and early 21st Century are going to begin to experience the folly and consequences of secularism on global proportions.
